Ieri sera, dopo la lezione di Opensource Obscure a Secondlearning (Funzioni Oscure),sono stata all' apertura della mostra di ChrisTower Dae a

Salimar.

Oltre alle foto che già conoscevo ce n'erano alcune nuove che rivelavano un magistrale uso delle luci tanto da sembrare reale.

Questo è infatti quello che si evince dai lavori di ChrisT e cioè foto che paiono dipinti di Monet o avatar che sembrano prendere vita da un momento all'altro.
Coglie l'attimo ,i particolari ed i suoi ritratti rivelano addirittura l'animo di chi manovra quello stesso avatar.

La sintesi

it's early times for Lively. But this is not an insignificant development. Lively is certainly not just a "chat room with some visuals." For now, it's very different from SL, not least in that regular users can't create content. But it's not an unworkable environment -- even now -- for a great many interesting applications. The fact that it lives in the browser is huge -- among other points, the panelists agreed that, even full-screened, the Lively experience is more multitasking-friendly than SL, which is a far more immersive and even, to some extent, hermetic medium.

If you're interested in the future co-evolution of SL and Lively, stick around. We'll shortly (fingers crossed) be bringing some of the Lively team inworld, and explore some of the history and vision behind this fascinating new tool

Avatars don't need air! You can't weigh them! They don't know the meaning of the word! THESE avatars don't know anything! They're weighed down by coordinates! They can't fuck! Their prims bend, smash! Smashed prims are prims. Hello, hello! Video and performance spewed from a laboratory of virtual environments.
IN MY WORLD, THERE ARE NO ERRORS, ONLY SEDUCTIONS!

The human figure's place in art gets turned inside out here in this world of unfolded and refolded geometries. What remains of the body in the domain of the virtual?
What survives the transition? Could this still be called a body?
Where are we going in this crossing over into bits, why are we going there/nowhere and what does it say about the nature of human desire? At what point does a beautiful accident become a tragic mistake? Is there truly such a thing as a mistake?
