[ENG] Adventures in SL: A Virtual World Tour Searching for Real World Art, Culture and Science. An event organized by "Second Physics" & "Consorzio Sistema Bibliotecario Castelli Romani "
- 1) The project -

On February 19th, 23rd, and 25th, 2009, at the Public Library of Genzano di Roma (IT) - main office of Consorzio Sistema Bibliotecario Castelli Romani - you are invited to participate in an exceptional event. Tearing down the barriers between real and virtual worlds, participants will be guided through a widescreen presentation of the magnificent world of “Second Life.” Starting out from a virtual land called "Second Physics," participants will be taken on a mind-sweeping trip through discotheques, schools, casinos, science labs, galleries filled with artworks, universities, palaces, editorial departments of journals, shopping centers, etc. within SL. On each land, the visitors will be guided by one or more avatars who will be answering their questions, and facilitating interviews with the land's builders and owners, revealing little hidden mysteries. Along the journey, visitors will discover that SL, aside from being a gaming environment, constitutes the basis for an emerging social network and a new opportunity for educational activities. SL is an ideal arena for communicating scientific issues to a broad, non-specialized audience, and a perfectly suited infrastructure to disseminate new diagnostic and preventive methods in medicine, to develop creative ideas in the arts, to facilitate cultural exchange, and more.

The 'Adventure is organized in three tours, all of them departing from "Second Physics" in SL : [First Island East 144, 47, 22] at 8,15 am SL time. (5,15pm Italian time)
