Il Tangram (in cinese:七巧板) è un gioco rompicapo cinese.

Il nome significa "Le sette pietre della saggezza". Pur essendo comunemente ritenuto di origine molto remota nel tempo, le più antiche fonti conosciute non lo nominano, però, che verso il XVIII secolo.
E' costituito da sette pezzi del medesimo materiale (legno, plastica, ecc.) e del medesimo colore (chiamati tan) che sono disposti inizialmente a formare un quadrato:
5 triangoli (2 grandi, 1 medio, 2 piccoli)
1 quadrato
1 parallelogramma
Lo scopo è quello, partendo dall'originale quadrato, di formare altre figure di senso compiuto. Altro scopo è quello di riprodurre (risolvere) una figura data, già composta da altri, di cui si conosce solo la silhouette.

La difficoltà risiede nel fatto che la forma proposta da riprodurre non è in scala 1:1 con i pezzi da utilizzare e nel fatto che non si vedono i confini dei singoli pezzi all'interno della silhoutte, essendo questi, differentemente da come illustrato nelle figure, del medesimo colore e adiacenti.
Le regole sono alquanto semplici:
Usare tutti e sette i pezzi nel comporre la figura finale;
Non sovrapporne nessuno......

Imparafacile Runo ha iniziato un blog sul suo progetto di formazione.

Lo scopo di questo incontro "tavola rotonda" è di:
- fare il punto sulle aree di questo tipo (conoscerne l'esistenza)
- far conoscere il progetto di censimento aree italiane di OpenSource e dei Mentori Italiani
- proporre come riuscire a far conoscere queste cose ai newbie e ai residenti in modo efficace

Program :- Romance in F op. 50, by Beethoven (1770-1827)
-Violin Concerto in A minor BWV 1041, by J.S. Bach (1685-1750)
- Violin sonata in A major, by Cesar Franck (1822-1890)

PROGRAM NOTES:
The Violin Concerto in A minor by J. S. Bach (BWV 1041)'s 3 movements are :

* Allegro moderato
* Andante - with an ostinato style theme
* Allegro assai

(Note : the Clavier Concerto in G minor, BWV 1058, is an arrangement of this concerto with piano or harpsichord.)

The motifs of the theme of the Allegro moderato appear in changing combinations and are separated and intensified throughout the movement.
In the Andante, Bach uses an insistent pattern in the bass part that is repeated constantly in the movement. He focuses the variation in the harmonic relations.
In the final movement, Bach relies on bariolage figures to generate striking acoustic effects.

Dedicated to violinist Eugene Ysaye.
Franck’s compositional style favors frequent modulations, and, like Liszt’s B minor Sonata, he develops the initial melodic material throughout the piece. His pieces are sensuous, yet spiritual and serene.
He promised Wagner’s wife, Cosima, a violin sonata in 1859, but put it off.
Finally, the famed Ysaÿe, a fellow Belgian (born in Franck’s hometown), persuaded Franck to write a violin sonata in honor of Ysaÿe’s wedding. The 1886 premiere took place in an art gallery in Brussels. The room was so dark that Ysaÿe was forced to play the sonata largely from memory !
The opening movement is in sonata form, but leaves out the development section, to avoid conflict. It is harmonious and reflective. The piece develops less by thematic opposition than by a gradual rising and falling of tension. It uses what Franck referred to as “cyclic” development: all the movements share common thematic threads.
The second movement is turbulent, but subsides to a foreboding calm.
The third movement is somewhat amorphous; Franck called it a “recitative-fantasia.”
The Finale opens with a sunny theme, in perfect canon ! There is a recapitulation of sorts, and the ending is fervent ; a proclamation of love for the married couple.

Biographical Notes:
I have been presenting live violin recitals in Second Life for about one year.
In my first life, I live in France and am 31 years old. I started violin at 7, and since I was 12, I studied with a great professor who transmitted me a real passion for violin, and whom I can't thank enough. I also had the opportunity to study in international training and master-class sessions with great worldwide soloists. It was an honor for me to win a few years ago a First Prize at International Leopold Bellan Music Competition in Paris.

I am now performing concerts with local orchestras and various symphonic and chamber groups, as a tutti or as a soloist.
I want to keep a big place for violin in my life, as a passion, but I always had the dream of becoming a professional solo performer.
SL is giving me the chance to make this dream, somehow, come true. In my second life, I can be the performer I once wished I would be.
Therefore, playing for you is a challenge and makes me very happy.
